CONVERGE in 2010

Happy New Year from the CONVERGE Team!

2009 was a fabulous year for the CONVERGE project. The CONVERGE project was awarded a grant from the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme in September and after many months of evolving the project proposal, research was finally underway. Now 4 months into the project, things are hotting up. CONVERGE has a website and will shortly be commmunicating progress via many other means including Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, and more local publication outlets around the world. The administrative backbone of the project is in place, we're using googledocs and googlesites to manage our research internally and are highly appreciative of tools such as Skype, Mind Manager, Xmind and  Stella. 2010 heralds an interesting year for CONVERGE. Firstly you can expect to see this website evolving into a resource where you can really explore the CONVERGE project's work, and find ways to get involved if you want to. In terms of our research, we'll be finding out what convergence really means, exploring and developing ideas around convergence, and explaining how we'll be undertaking more complicated aspects of the project. It's set out to be a planning and preparation year for the project.

We'll be having 2 project meetings; one in Iceland and one in the UK, where the team will come together face-to-face representing 9 organisations from 5 countries. We hope to involve more organisations from more countries as the project evolves and are keeping our eye's peeled for additional funding to make this possible (let us know if you spot any!)

Our very best wishes go out to the world and here's hoping 2010 is a fantastic year for all the citizens of our global neighborhood
