Get Involved!

23.5% of the world’s population, approximately 1.6 Billion people, are now ‘on-line’ using the Internet to exchange information and connect. That number is growing every day (Miniwatts 2009). Here is the CONVERGE project’s small attempt at harnessing that potential towards our research.

We are inviting you to join our Collaborative Learning Network (CLN) – where you can engage in rich dialogue with us and with each other in an intentional, generative collaboration towards innovation. We would like you to support us by sharing your expertise, insights, comments, feedback and ideas without which we already know this project is a mere shadow of is true potential.

The Collaborative Learning network has the role of bringing together individuals and organisations with different viewpoints from different sectors and disciplines to find solutions that rise above our individually limiting perspectives. It is a network of stakeholders from different fields, bringing with them the various resources necessary for co-generating solutions and to undertake our research together in novel ways.

The first thing to do if you are interested is to join the network. Simply send an email to alice@schumacherinstitute.org.uk. In joining the network you are signing up to receive no more than 1 per month, letting you know what activities are going on within the CLN, and how you can be getting stuck in. We would really like to know why you are interested in participating, and how you think you can contribute, so please add some information about yourself. We won’t pass this info on.

The next thing to do is to check out our discussion papers. These are drafts of our research which are still evolving. Now you can contribute to them.

The CLN concept is still evolving, so please hang in there while we add more information about this network to the website. If you have any immediate questions, please address them to alice@schumacherinstitute.org.uk

Comments now working!

I just realised the add comment thing was disabled. It should work now. I still have to approve your comments - its well worth it as we get alot of spam, so comment away and I'l try to keep up!

getting networks that work

This commenting system is great for getting thoughts on pages of your site but a working CLN needs a sense of community. Like coming to a real gathering, participants need to see who's there and be able to interact directly with each other as well as collaboratively on the ideas and projects. Would recommend wiserearth.org (started by Paul Hawken). As an example please see my group there
