Dr Sarah Cornell

Sarah is an environmental scientist at the University of Bristol, currently working as a Research Fellow and as the Synthesis Leader  of QUEST, the UK Natural Environment Research Council's programme for Earth System Science.   Sarah leads the CONVERGE Work Packages 2 and 8.  Her background is in environmental chemistry and human perturbation to the global biogeochemical cycles.  Sarah's current research crosses the divides between natural and social sciences, and between research and real-world action.

Before Sarah came to Bristol, she worked at the University of East Anglia's Laboratory for Global Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry, the Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment, and the Tyndall Centre.  She has also worked as a consultant on science policy and sustainability-related matters.  She will shortly be moving to the Stockholm Resilience Centre, to coordinate research on the Planetary Boundaries concept.
